Kirk Franklin To Receive Icon Award At 2025 Recording Academy Honors

Gospel pioneer Kirk Franklin will be honored at the Recording Academy Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective during GRAMMY Week! Franklin’s revolutionary contributions to music and culture will be honored at the occasion.

On Sunday, February 2, the 67th GRAMMY Awards, formally known as the 2025 GRAMMYs, will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+. One of the main events of GRAMMY Week 2025 will be the 2025 Recording Academy Honors Presented by the Black Music Collective, where Kirk Franklin, a 20-time GRAMMY winner, will be honored.

The Black Music Icon Award, which honors Black musicians whose dedication to their profession has significantly influenced the business and whose service legacy motivates innumerable individuals worldwide, will go to Franklin.
