The Joyful Noise! Gospel Competition Is Set for November 8th-10th

This fall, Foo Foo Fest will have a three-part gospel event honoring the cultural influence of gospel music, with the Sing Harlem choir from New York. The Joyful Noise! Gospel Celebration will be broadcast on WSRE PBS and will take place in downtown Pensacola from Friday through Sunday, November 8–10.

The major event will be a regional gospel music competition in the Pensacola High School auditorium on Saturday, November 9, from 12 to 5 p.m. Local choirs and music groups will compete for top awards, and there will be featured performances by Solomon Bozeman and The Sounds of the Gulf Coast, Sing Harlem, and the dance company Soulful Movement: Spirit of Excellence. Local ensembles are invited to register for a chance to perform and compete at the event.

The Joyful Noise! Gospel Competition is free and open to the general public. There will be food trucks, a short film screening of the documentary “Gospel,” plus music and dance performances.
